Friendly, collegial, fast paced small company
Pros
Great people --- genuinely nice, fun people who care for each other. If people have an ego, they definitely check it at the door. People talk about "culture" a lot, PQS has it. I'm neither an introvert nor extrovert (somewhere in the middle) and I truly enjoy the daily interactions with the team. Small company dynamic --- most employees came/fled from bigger companies and find the close-knit collaborative atmosphere refreshing No politics / flat hierarchy --- no red tape (things get done here very quickly), very few BS meetings/admin processes, effort is focused on Value Add, no "rat race" mentality throughout organization, everyone from CEO down is readily accessible, willing to listen/help as much as possible Tons of freedom / learning --- you are an adult and responsible for your tasks and your time --- I've seen zero micromanagement (everyone is too busy for that anyways). You can propose something and probably do it as long as you can justify it and are willing to own it Fully remote
Cons
Lot of responsibilities, no redundancy --- many day to day tasks and you will have to own and follow up on your work, limits availability to tackle new endeavors/things you want to do, can interfere with work/life balance and you need to be careful not to burnout Pay is below average compared to "big city" jobs, lack of long term incentives --- no stock options and limited financial upside Not much structure/established practices --- I personally don't see this as a con, but individuals who crave predictability or a template on how to do every task may not get that here --- you have to be flexible and a self-starter (especially since everyone is remote now). People will directly message you on a daily basis and you will have to problem solve (I don't see this as a con unless it is too frequent)
