Pros

Benefits are ok but lacking. Other than that not much to offer. If you want to work in a high school environment, then working here has much to offer.

Cons

No vision no growth unless you are in the cheerleader clique. The management has run the team into the ground. Leadership does not have any relevant IT experience. The CEO is totally aware of the toxic Management. Total divisiveness created between the IT teams. Now they can't figure out why no one trusts them. Head stuck in the cloud like it is the Mayo Clinic. No engagement with the staff, just a fake front. Funny, Forbes list Phelps as a top place to work in Missouri but the results of the actual employee surveys show less that 28% think it is a good place to work. IT is even lower. How does that happen? A management goal was to improve employee satisfaction by a couple %. Very sad that mid year the survey results were so bad that they made managers remove this as a goal as it appears it was not achievable, ie see above, and not making goals means no increases. So, you can imagine management didn't what this as a goal for the department and affect them, but the funny thing is the toxic management caused the current situation. All employees have been recently sent the annual employee survey. The IT department surveys will unanimously show a no confidence vote from which the current leadership will not recover. There has been confusion in the past of which level of management was being referenced in employee answers. The CEO just needs to read the comments this time to see where the problem lies. FYI, no one was allowed to see survey comments from the last annual employee survey as they were so bad. You aren't given respect......you earn it.

Pros

We get to wear T shirts - hooray!!! NOT

Cons

The majority of the original EPIC team has left. Why???? You would think HR would want to know the answer. The Exec Director over IT and Epic has run them into the ground as her stair step to management. She did not care whose neck she stepped on. Still doesn't. The place is a mess thanks to our Exec. Director. No vision whatsoever since she doesn't have the experience for this job. . The CEO appointed her, no interviews, no competition to ensure the right person was in the position. There are close to two thousand help desk tickets open that are not being reviewed or followed up on. Why??? Because unqualified people were put into management roles because they were part of the girls club and not interested in providing service to clinical staff and providers. Agree with the other post, it is worse than being in high school. For some reason the CEO and COO don't want to recognize the problems and the low moral due to not trusting the IT management. Hostile work envirinment has been reported over and over to management and HR. Nothing happens. Last time something like this happened and was reported and swept under the rug, the CEO was replaced.

Pros

Phelps health has treated its employees wonderfully in the past. But within the past 2 years we have seen a change of leadership in the administration that is leading to employees being burns out and walked on.

Cons

Administration has been the cause of countless employees leaving or getting terminated due to their hidden agenda for “the betterment of the staff, organization, and patients”. People that have been here for 20+ years are leaving to find happiness elsewhere because employees are just another number on the payroll and not valued as people to our administration
