Pros

Benefits that are better than other companies can provide but after closely observing them, it seems that they're just sugar coatings, devised to make it look like you're getting a lot.

Cons

Slow working pace as they don't want to change their outdated business style. Doesn't use new technologies, and thinks its a waste of money. Spends too much money on 3rd party companies instead of updating their own capabilities. And they still have the super outdated culture of martyrdom - going home late to get "respect". You also feel you're back in high school with the name callings, whisperings, and branding a person, and they push you out you when you're not part of the "gang" Wants to get "millennial" but marketing strategies are old and doesn't follow new marketing trends. Has "power-tripping" managers who will scold and embarrass you in front of everybody. Treats you like you're trash and thinks you're dumb just because you're new (like in a prison) and expects you to deliver things you do not know yet and without training. Says they are about "saving lives" but treats their own people they like crap just because you're not "one of them". No clear definitions of duties - relying on metaphors like "align yourself with the companies values" Projects takes weeks of kinds of projects that can be done in hours. Spends too much time in "meetings" and then organizes another meeting for the last meeting. Too much time spent on fixing power point presentations and then spends more time fixing it after presenting it for a follow up meeting Needs an IT to unlock every last thing on the computer including installation of fonts. A lot of websites blocked so you can't research well. Takes IT 3 hours or more before you can actually work. People spend an hour in the morning chatting and laughing and getting coffee.

Pros

The environment is good, everyone's friendly and seemingly helpful. You handle your own time.

Cons

If you're a fresh grad from an entirely unrelated course, with no good/rich connections, or your forte isn't exactly sales/marketing, then I strongly advise you to not go into this path. It would be a good career only if you're a specific type of person. Otherwise, don't think that you have room to improve or anything like that, because the pressure will really just stress you out. If you're not well-off and need to be a breadwinner of your family after graduating, then I earnestly advice you to just start with the field you graduated on and steer clear from this. It'll waste your time and your resources. You won't have a basic salary, and it's really gritty work. It's also quota-based with a sales target per month. No benefits AT ALL. They tell you that you're NOT an employee (which sounds good at first) but then overtime it begins to feel like you're a working slave for a huge corporation. For the work I put into when I was a financial advisor, I never felt that what I got as profit was enough to compensate the resources and time I put out. If I had the chance to re-do entering this industry, I would. I regret it.

Pros

You work according to your own time. There are no bureaucracies. Lots of agency assemblies and meetings that resemble family gatherings.

Cons

Sometimes your Agency Leaders do not give the best productivity and operational pieces of advice. You sometimes do not earn much and the income is unpredictable.
