Pros
1. Big opportunity to grow 2. Pays well above many top companies 3. Collaborative environment. Smart but down to earth co-workers. 4. Management makes effort to communicate to its people and involves us in some decision making. HR is very different. Transparent and talks to the people. Overall, I am happy with the work and the people. It’s not an easy ride. You’ll have to work your a*s out. But the learning, growth, pay and happy colleagues make the stay all worth it.
Cons
Not really a problem for me but it may be for others who are used to traditional workplaces or not ready to commit. 1. They call each other by first name including the bosses and investors (not bad for me!) 2. Company is not a fan of flashy titles and uses simple and straight forward titles like dev, researcher, etc. They also do not have levels. It’s either you’re a junior, intermediate or senior. So if you are looking to be treated like a boss with fancy titles , then this is not for you . 3. Work is real. And you won’t run out of things to do or learn. You need to have a learning attitude or you’ll get left behind. 4. You’d better know what you’re doing specially if you claim to be a smart one. It will show if you are just pretending to know your stuff. 5. Work is collaborative. Everyone in the team is ready to help and coach. This also means people are working in the office and not from their homes. Quite radical in this era but it’s actually working and people don’t mind.
