      Pros

      Only inpatient hospital in the area for certain specialties.

      Cons

      High turnover, bad nurse:patient ratios, low pay relative to other regional towns such as Macon, Atlanta or Tallahassee, poor rural area for living, terrible insurance/benefits package, apathetic nursing management, poor yield relative to effort, low advancement potential.

      Excellent facility - opportunities for Nursing

      Pros

      State of the art facilities, forward thinking CEO, strong financial base. Clinical practice rooted in evidence based medicine. Uses E-ICU which enhances outcomes.

      Cons

      Good old boy network exists in nursing leadership. Friendships have greater impact than talent and intellect. Able to talk a good game, but the follow through is lacking when it comes to moving nursing care forward.

      Too many agency nurses, most permanent staff have left due to higher nurse to patient ratios and low morale.
