Pros

One manager there is cool, a very smart sales person, and has a wildly crazy sense of humor. Close to Light Rail.

Cons

Inside Sales classified manager could not recognize talent if his life depended on it. Very demeaning. You may only sell precisely his way, not a company sales approach, HIS sales approach. After he asks how you would sell... tells you all the things you say are basically ignorant, even if you come from a long history of very successful sales. Told me things he would do to hurt people and their families if they ever crossed him. Short man's complex to the max.

Pros

Some of my coworkers were nice, occasionally they brought in donuts, and the building is a historical landmark.

Cons

This company is everything they say they are not. This place is a toxic. The outside sales position is 60% inside and only 40% outside at best. They want you in the office making calls so they can watch you like a hawk. Management are micromanaging control freaks that care more about control than about the bottom line, making sales is not going to get management off your back at this place. Their KPI’s have nothing to do with your success and only creates busy work when you could be out talking to potential clients. They say they sell a million products,” Events, Digital, and Print” but once you get started they’ll tell you they only want you to sell print ads. If you start proposing large digital packages to clients it really seems to annoy the management team. It’s print, print, only print. Don’t get me started on their compensation. The base is just above minimum wage and the commission structure will get you nowhere fast. It’s also a very hostile work environment with team leads and management calling you every four letter word they can think of. I’m not particularly sensitive but being referred to as an a-hole on my second day of work doesn’t motivate me. I really started looking for the door when I saw a member management create a print ad for his side business which made light of rape victims or maybe it was when I saw daily emails telling us they would be later getting in that morning because they drank too much the night before. However, when the marketing girls walk in at 8:02 because they were stuck behind a car accident on the way in they might as well pack their desk up when they got in They preach good communication and say they “only want to see that you making an effort” but they won’t communicate with you and they don’t care about what you have to say. The only thing they want to hear is, “yes , sir” I’m a loyal long term employee but I started to look for new job after one week with these people.
