Best-in-class optical tracking systems, HUD cameras, and airborne cameras
Pros
Every day is an adventure! We get to build high quality optical tracking systems, head up display (HUD) cameras and airborne cameras. We are constantly pushing the technological envelope and learning new things, integrating the latest sensors, video trackers, servos, and other subsystems into our products. Really, the best way to appreciate what we do here is to see the videos on the company website. As this is a small company, there is flexibility in work schedules, subject of course to the schedule and immediate needs of the company, and the particular individual's position. Benefits are reasonable for a small business, although there are fewer provider options available compared to offerings from large companies. For example, there's only one medical provider. The company does try to take care of its employees, though. Also, there is a 9/80 work schedule so employees get every other Friday off. Finally, I should mention that the people here are friendly and it's a good work environment. People care about their work and making good products.
Cons
Some of the equipment is outdated and needs to be upgraded or replaced. There's more work to be done than people to do the work. This is both a pro and a con, really. There are plenty of opportunities to branch out and learn new skills outside one's immediate area of expertise, if one takes the initiative. It would be nice to have a slightly-less-lean staffing approach, though. The products are largely geared toward the defense industry, although we are making inroads into commercial enterprises as well.
