Pros

If you work and live in Tennessee, rather than an individual dermatology practice they own throughout the country, there is a very good chance that you will move up quickly in the company.

Cons

This company buys individual dermatology clinics across the country and takes over the business portion of the practice. They promise "nothing will change except the name on your paycheck". Not true at all. They break all their promises. They force individual practices to do things their way, even if their way doesn't work for your team. They will force you to use an inferior practice management system. They will demote or eliminate positions at your practice, raise your prices, and lower your salaries, then expect you to do things without adequate training. They do not match 401K. There is very high turnover because people are not treated right, and can find better pay and benefits elsewhere. They take practices that are doing well, and run them into the ground.

Pros

I cannot think of one. It’s been a nightmare since they took over. If you are looking to sell your practice to this company - RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

Cons

Phynet acquired the practice I work for. Before the acquisition our organization ran smoothly, we’ve been very successful. Since the acquisition it’s been nothing but problems. Inventory is often late, we’ve run out of necessary supplies and products. They made promises that nothing would change but they’ve already started to eliminate good employees. The folks out of corporate don’t have a clue and have been extremely unhelpful- this includes everyone from HR to the district employees to the Supply Chain department. Such a shame. I imagine this company will end up running many successful organizations to the ground. The bottom line is cut costs, they have no consideration for any hard working employees.

Pros

The pay is consistent and on-the-ground management is reasonable enough with employees to understand people's priorities are flexible and changing constantly. Medical staff are always accommodating and courteous to non-medical staff. Staff lunches are a nice bonus.

Cons

Any staff interaction that warrants corporate managers coming from outside the local office is usually cold, demonstrative, impractical and impersonal. Medical benefits are laughable considering they offer out-of-state insurance as the default with even more laughable deductibles on top of it. Furthermore, there is no room for pay raises, promotions and even asking was considered an affront to upper management outside of the local office. WFH options were offered to offices outside of the local one I frequented and when I brought this up for our office as COVID was being dealt with, management reprimanded me for even acknowledging such a thing. PhyNet is a relatively young company and it shows with its organizational inadequacies.
