Pros

- Excellent benefits, likely required in order to maintain their skeleton crew

Cons

- Punitive sick policies (more than 5 days per year, you're gone) - Nasty management practices - Very little constructive, positive criticism, lots of negative, belittling criticism - The company, in order to save money, will skeleton-staff a store, putting 2 or more people's jobs on your shoulders and then belittle you if you do not fulfill their overtaxing demands - Punitive, humiliating discipline practices - Comfortable with allowing Hate Symbols to remain in work environment; I.E. swastikas carved into tables, racial/sexual slurs written in bathroom - Poor pay, certainly not enough to justify difficulty of job - Detached corporate management that foists additional work on already overworked employees, don't understand what's going on

Pros

You get mandatory breaks if you’re Union. 10% discount on Kroger brands, 15% off “Home” items.

Cons

Management was pretty ineffective and did not like to intervene when they were needed. Constantly harassed to take calls during unpaid lunch and over the union breaks. Sometimes even after punching out. There’s no cleaning except for the bathrooms. Clean bathrooms are definitely a good thing, though. There is NO accountability. Especially with attendance and attitude, you can encounter some really bitter people here. A hair above minimum wage is still basically minimum wage.

Pros

It offers flexible hours to accommodate school and family. Most customers and coworkers are great.

Cons

It's difficult to obtain a full-time position. It's difficult to maintain a set number of hours every week (up to 28 for part-time 35-40 for full-time) which makes budgeting difficult. Full time positions require a mostly open availability, so you could open one day and close the next followed by weird shifts in the middle of the day for the rest of the week - makes for a difficult time planning meals - and making arrangements with friends/family. Schedules get posted two days before the work week starts - making it difficult to plan appointments. Training is a bunch of videos and then sink or swim.
