However, the pay is awful compared to state/city averages. Merit increases are between 2-3.5%. Bonus pay are up to 500$ if you qualify.
Role based promotion is generally about $5000 and salary adjustments with HR are based on the lower end of a popular salary site.
I made it through the ranks and couldn't help but read reviews from former colleagues. Reviews below are very opinionated but holds merit. The IT team (15-20 years of longevity) utilizes a buddy system which depending on who you are can change your perception of the assigned roles. I would agree majority of the staffs technical skills are not up to today's standards, and some are complacent while cruising towards retirement. There is little to no process improvement plans. It is widely accepted to be average. A few staff members called in sick weekly or left consistently during the day to get a haircut. Much of the work is completed day to day by a few people.
There is a lack of communication, accountability and leadership on the team. Department managers try to hold staff accountable, but do not hold themselves accountable. The biggest disappointment was the lack of support from HR regarding department conduct and existing policies. Some how there are un-written rules when it comes to phone reimbursements or purchasing of tools required for the job. There is also a major disconnect in mileage reimbursement and hours worked during travel periods.
Company will invest in projects, including outsourcing, but will rarely invest in employees. I last heard the firm invested in "long-tenured" staff after several of us left the organization.
