Pros
There are some awesome people that work at Pima. Good benefits. Pima is really the only game in town in terms of affordability for students with limited resources. There are some great faculty and staff that really care about students.
Cons
The problem with Pima is it has some sort of sickness, kind of like a chronic disease that can't be fully cured. It gets better at times, but it just can't seem to shake the sickness. What is the sickness....I would call it cultural incompetency and fear, especially at the administrative level. Administrators making fat 6 figure salaries that don't want to make difficult decisions because they do not want to upset anyone. Leadership tends not to be around either. It became common towards the end of my time there for staff to complain that administrators can never be found. Lack of leadership and leadership presence leaves people feeling uneasy, uncared for and demoralized. These are the exact symptoms staff exhibited when I eventually decided to leave Pima. I am very grateful for my 10 years at Pima, but I am so glad to be out of there.
