Pros

Great company mission, intelligent and talented co-workers

Cons

Non-competitive pay, minimal benefits. Management changes priorities for unclear reasons and general lack of transparency. There is a clear cultural rift between early employees and newer folks.

I’m sorry to read that you are so frustrated. Please reach out to me directly to share specific examples so we can include your ideas for improvement in our planning. As we’ve shared with the team, we recently implemented salary increases for over 50% of our employees to be more closely in-line with industry baselines. We have also started holding more frequent technical forums for sharing science information as well as regular company updates to review business strategy and direction of our rapidly growing business. The team is working hard to address our growing pains as we continue to hire more employees and commercialize the first nitrogen-producing microbe that will help farmers be more productive and reduce greenhouse gases. I look forward to working with you!

Kind of Hectic, Lots of Layoffs, Not Really Worth It

Pros

Pay is pretty solid, okayish benefits.

Cons

-Bureaucratic HR -Large sense of everybody is winging it -Yearly layoffs with no warning, always large. You are always considered on the chopping block. No matter what any manager assures you, mentions or says, you can always be laid off, and it is extremely likely, every, single, year. -Uses company culture to compensate poor work life balance. -Small pay increases, some years no pay increase at all, not even adjusted for inflation. -Claims we are out of money, but C-Suite all fly business class, and don't talk to low level employees. Only a few top level people actually interact with day to day employees. -Management knows of struggling teams and departments, and fail to do something. -Favoritism -Always demands more work, but refuse to talk about compensation.

Pros

Good pay and flexible environment

Cons

Laid off almost half the company after months of promising no layoffs. All fluff, leadership sees everyone as expendable. Poor leadership.
