Pros

Really none to speak of. Unfortunately not a good place to work.

Cons

The owner of this company is a neurotic micro manager. She creates a tense work environment by constantly sending projects around with little to no direction and then has outbursts/tantrums when you don't do something exactly the way she would have done it. She expects employees to perform multiple tasks outside of their expected job responsibilities. She wants everything done perfectly but gives no time to do so. The days are extremely long - and even then you are expected to be on call at all times. I stopped working at 10pm one night, only to wake up in the middle of the night to harassing emails and texts asking where I was and why I wasn't working on something. She constantly emails in the middle of the night. No work life balance. Employees are expected to use their own computers/memory. The worst part of working here was the owners inappropriate behavior. She berates employees and looks at everything you do under a microscope, she will even blame you for her errors, so you have to watch your back.

I am sorry this former employee has negative feelings about our company and our leadership. She worked for Pixels 360 in 2015 for about 6 months. She was hired as a senior designer and unfortunately didn’t have the level of skill set we were hoping someone would bring to that position. Although we tried to work with her to see if we could help her grow into this position, we were getting calls from clients who were not happy with the level of her work. In the end, we did lose an account because of the issues with this person and it was at that point that we realized we had to let her go. It was clear that she had just over sold herself and we were looking for someone more senior. We currently have a team of super talented designers who work very hard to meet the high expectations of our clients. We are located in the Hingham shipyard and have offices that overlook the Harbor. We provide our employees with computers and laptops suited with all necessary software. We also make sure our employees have any additional equipment, subscriptions and/or tools needed to help them succeed. To help alleviate the sometimes busy days, we plan many fun non-work related activities. We host at least 2 company sponsored lunch outings per month, seasonal company get togethers and bigger events like a day at the Red Sox for the whole team. We do look for a certain caliber of designer – we owe it to our clients to make sure we consistently provide them with a high-level of service.

Pros

None to speak of unfortunately.

Cons

As many have said here i think it's important to mention the high stress environment. I think it's unfortunate how degrading management is to employees. At a certain point you have to look at the excuses your giving as to why employees aren't meeting your "expectations" and consider the fact that perhaps you don't have a good or motivating management style. If you want employees to work hard and enjoy working for you they need to feel empowered and not timid to make mistakes for fear of hearing all about it and getting a scolding from the boss (which happens over every little thing.) i have never worked in an environment such as this and think it's unprofessional. What's worse is it's always something that is open to interpretation - and you have to please one person basically, and that person is not the client. There have been many talented people who i've worked with here and i don't agree with management's belief they weren't up to the task, it simply isn't true.

Worst Place I've Ever Worked!

Pros

- Free food sometimes - Coworkers were nice

Cons

- They will micromanage every single thing you do. - Make you work outside of work hours for unnecessary reasons. - The management lacks expertise in web development. This causes many issues for the developers who are told by management what to do. - Inappropriate comments made frequently that do not belong in a work environment. - Management can do no wrong. They will never accept fault for anything. - Unrealistic deadlines (due to lack of expertise)

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your experience at Pixels 360 wasn’t what you had hoped for. Life at Pixels 360 can be very rewarding and fulfilling, but can also be demanding at times and I can understand that it's not the right fit for everyone. The fact that this was your first job out of school, and this position was entry-level, being closely managed should have been expected to ensure proper direction. We strive to provide a productive fast-paced learning experience, this includes mentoring with the other more experienced software developers on the team. We have experienced fast growth in the last several years and with that comes growing pains. We are always listening and looking for ways to streamline processes and become more efficient and effective for our clients. The management at Pixels 360 is very committed to their employees and are constantly seeking ways to reward and support the team. Below are some of the great benefits we currently offer and we are constantly reviewing and considering new benefits as well. • Health Insurance • Vacation / Sick Time • Paid Holidays • Work from Home Fridays • Simple IRA with 3% Corporate Matching - Managed by Fidelity • Employee Performance Bonus • $500 Vacation Stipend per Year • Monthly In-office Chair Massages • Free Office Snacks, Treats and Bottomless Coffee • Monthly Catered/Lunch • Monthly Lunch n' Learns • Team Development Programs • Company Sponsored Team Outings We wish you the best in your career and again, thank you for your feedback.
