Plan-Net Reviews

I worked for plan-net as a helpdesk analyst, when they had a high profile banking client (surprisingly they lost the contract). The only way to sum up my experience, is that, you are a pawn on a chessboard. Management are only concerned with how much profit they can milk a client, not with staff satisfaction. I was particularly skilled at my job, and was one of the lucky few that got offered a team leader position. The flipside being that there was no salary increase....!

You get a monthly review from a plan-net staff member who has talked to the client. This can vary from valuable, to an outright farce. A number of times the minutes from my monthly reviews were identical. With their lack of recruitment process, Plan-net has no concept of quality control. As long as you look the part, and have a reasonable CV, you are hired. I've spoken to clients who have bemoaned the lack of quality sent from Plan-net to work with them. You swiftly discover that no matter how well you are regarded at the client site, no matter how hard you work, and how much effort you put in, recognition from plan-net is hard to come by. Forget about getting a credible pay rise, and look forward to working with peers at sites who enjoy much fairer pay and treatment. You'll get some kind words - if you are lucky Of course, if you talk about leaving, then even that tokenism is thrown out of the window. They don't see you as a valued member of staff, but simply a resource that occupies a desk that can be easily replaced with some other chump.
