Pros

No pros to say. Cramped office in Indore, a city that lacks ambitious and skilled people.

Cons

The germans can't identify who is a really hard worker and who is a boot licker because they like the latter as they also just pass time because they already sold 90% stake to another company and keep bluffing people that they raised funding. There are 2-3 people at the top sitting in Indore wanting to control the entire employees and all departments. You will be questioned more if you work more and the CTO is just a waste promoting smoking and beers with colleagues. They are blind to real issues because they have a set of people who will brainwash that they are doing very good business. They have closed warehouses across cities because of their incapability to solve conflicts with the local political parties and compliance to local laws. They also purchase stocks from prohibited places to run the show. The SCM, sales and marketing teams are totally corrupt.

Pros

I worked for Peat GmbH as Plant Pathologist/Content Manager for their flagship product Plantix and found their area of activity pioneering and extremely interesting. I got familiar with artificial intelligence applied to plant diseases, integrated pest management and best agronomic practices in an agricultural context. There was a relatively good ambiance at work and colleagues are friendly and cooperative.

Cons

On the negative side, I must admit that I found the start-up atmosphere with its constant changes pretty challenging and unfortunately this did not improve with time (lack of stability.) It is also regrettable that the founders dealt with possible personnel issues themselves, something that clearly causes a conflict of interest (lack of impartiality.) This sometimes gave rise to awkward and embarrassing situations, as I had the occasion to experience first-hand (lack of professionalism.) In the long run, I also realized that none of the points below (from the job advertisement) were going to materialize and this despite broaching the subject several times with the company´s CEO (lack of commitment.) To their credit, it should be said that some of the founders made genuine efforts to effect some improvements but sadly, these were often canceled out by the obtuse and downright unprofessional attitude of others. I resigned from my position in the beginning of 2019 to devote myself to science journalism. Extract from job advertisement Plant and Agricultural Expert (November 2016): We offer: A high degree of autonomy: you will have a high level of ownership for your projects and personal goals A responsible enterprise: PEAT takes care about your personal and professional development. We also scrutinize the impact we make. Fair gratifications: beside the wage, we offer you further financial benefits and priceless insights and exciting experiences
