      Fantastic people stuck on a dying product

      Pros

      - smart, fun people - great environment - strong support of work/life balance - free cable - startup-esque environment with big company backing - truly open-door management team

      Cons

      - 5+ year old product (and therefore codebase) makes up core offering - incredibly negative consumer reviews of product make even NEW releases an uphill battle - interfacing with Comcast, when required, can be difficult - upper management team relatively inexperienced; flip strategic direction often based on incomplete information - general lack of accountability for poor performers

      an 'ok' company to be in

      Pros

      - few fun people at work - free cable/internet/phone service

      Cons

      - The entire "process" has been really messed up. They don't know what to do and how to do. Bunch of jokers are being hired and they run the process show. They also do too much of favoritism and they layoff good people once in a while. Oh btw, the new VP will be behind emp shoulder 24/7 since s/he does not have faith and this feels like being under dictator

      Plaxo has a startup culture inside a big company. People like to build products quickly that get used by lots of people.

      Cons

      not a true startup, so no more promises of millions to be made when the company goes IPO or gets acquired
