PWT is real-life group of 'plastics'

Pros

PWT offers many benefits (i.e. PTO, and CEU reimbursement). Working with an interdisciplinary team is helpful, especially for newer clinicians. Gaining experience with difficult and new cases.

Cons

PWT hires mostly new graduates with little to no experience in the field. Therapists are overworked and underpaid, therefore, therapist turnover is extremely high, causing inconsistent patient care. The lack of diversity is unsettling. The owner does not respond well to any opposing opinions and/or criticism that does not align with her agenda.

Thank you for this feedback. Interdisciplinary collaboration is invaluable to both our clients and clinicians! Our hiring process has always been to alternate between new graduates and experienced clinicians. We greatly value the incredibly meaningful experience and opportunity to provide high quality training and professional development to new graduates. As you know and experienced, PWT heavily values employee feedback throughout every step of our process. We regularly receive positive feedback about how we take the extra time needed to understand how our staff is feeling. At the same time, PWT has zero tolerance when employees do not show kindness and respect to others. In these moments, we have to step in and create goal-oriented plans that may feel like "micro-management" to help ensure a positive work atmosphere for everyone. Transparency with our staff members has always been critical to our success. As you know and also experienced, we use an open and honest communication style. We work incredibly hard to find authentic, dedicated, pediatric clinicians who are unique in their own ways though share the common goals of helping a very vulnerable population while learning and growing together in a safe space where it is okay to make mistakes, with mentors who value each individual for who they are and the unique way their personal and professional brain works together.

Great Company

Pros

PlayWorks really values their employees, their employee's development, and work-life balance. They're doing great things for the children of Chicago, and there is no corporate culture at PlayWorks. Even the newest or least experience employees have a seat at the table.

Cons

PlayWorks is going through a period of growth so there are always growing pains, but handling them gracefully!

Thank you for your feedback. Please be sure you are commenting on the correct company. Prior to March, 2017 we did not employ anyone as a Medical Biller for any length of time. Thank you!
