      Sinking ship of arrogance

      Pros

      - A leader who once cared about the people - No pressure to move away from remote work

      Cons

      - VPs leaving in droves due to poor leadership, vision, and product stability - CRO who believes himself to be a savior but is in fact a cancer. - CEO with little man syndrome. Over his skis in the industry - Customers beginning to really see the troubles ahead

      Decent, But Troubled

      Pros

      PlexTrac still has a decent culture. Plus, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better collection of talented developers. Also, PlexTrac is making its mark in an industry that is making a difference.

      Cons

      After the exit of some pivotal employees and the addition of outside managers, the developer culture has felt more corporate and less family--less excited to be here. Also, as PlexTrac is considered a startup, salaries are a bit less but augmented with company options. However, the option spot price is much too high for such speculation and serve mainly to fund the company by dipping into its employees' pockets. Finally, PlexTrac is still floundering when it comes to figuring out the best way to build software.

      Promising organization ruined by greed

      Pros

      The people who work at PlexTrac were the best part of going to work. Great talent, but many have been unexpectedly fired (oh I’m sorry, “laid off”) or left over the last couple years. Remote work and unlimited PTO was also a great benefit. Founder really does care about the mission.

      Cons

      Massive layoffs, a lot of turnover, and a company who has been gutted by new “leadership,” while pushing out the actual leaders who brought PlexTrac to Series B funding. What was once a promising company with lots of local and remote talent has been reduced to rubble. I don’t know many still at the organization who are happy to be there.
