Pros

If you enjoy being under paid, having benefits taken away from you, and like working in a passive aggressive, dysfunctional environment, this is the place for you

Cons

Any semblance of culture comes from seeing employees have each other’s back when management robs them of yet another benefit. No one believes or lives the values and the levels of passive aggressiveness are out of control. The chief people officer is a finance guy who is shockingly inexperienced and doesn’t care about culture or people at all. All he cares about is being Vistas lapdog. I think he gets off on employee misery. Attrition levels are ridiculous and it’s getting in the way of people being able to do their jobs because IP and knowledge is walking out the door. HPELs aren’t going to help the situation. There is zero accountability and ownership among remaining staff. The answer to attrition is to ship engineering off to India. Actively lied to employees about Vista not being pure evil. Everything you’ve heard about Vista is true - all they care about is making more and more profits at any cost. People are just commodities to line the ceos pockets. Disgusting behavior. No diversity within leadership. A bunch of out of touch white, male run this place.

playing catch up

Pros

Benefits; 401k; unlimited PTO; the people you get to work alongside

Cons

Really feels like a sinking ship. We used to lead the way but for the last 2+ years feels like we’re playing catch up to competition who have invested in their product roadmap and innovation. There has been so much turnover at the c-suite, literally each exec has been fired and replaced in the past 12 months. Managers/leaders are junior at best and typically promoted based on their ability to kiss butt of the next level rather than their experience and capability. At an IC level there’s no job security as the feeling any day could be your last is overwhelming. After dedicating years to this company, my new year resolution is to look after my own mental health and move on as this is not a place that promotes psychological safety or cares about the individuals who deliver.

Pros

Benefits were great but not sure how long they'll be around for - Fully paid health insurance - Unlimited PTO - Paid for Gym and wellness expenses

Cons

On the ground teams are great but upper management seems out of touch with the economic climate out there. They are expecting the levels of growth they enjoyed up to 2020 which is nothing short of dreaming. Massive company wide layoffs which didn't seem to have much strategic thought. They slashed teams making them completely inoperable. Icing on the cake was out of 400 jobs slashed they are happily moving 191 jobs to the Indian office. This all seemed to be a reallocation rather than actual layoffs.

Thank you for the review and for your time at Pluralsight. While you are correct about the unlimited PTO and a monthly wellness reimbursement (capped at $50), our team members pay a small portion of their healthcare coverage premiums depending on the plan and their location. I can assure you that leadership is aware of the current economic climate, and our recent workforce reduction was a direct result of careful planning to navigate an uncertain global economy. Our plan to grow our business in India has been in the works for a number of years, however I want to clarify that only 35 roles were relocated from our other offices to India as part of our recent restructuring (not 191 which is the number of team members we plan to hire in India in 2023). - Will
