Ain't what she used to be...Turn over rate is frightening

Pros

The staff is amazing (not management but the actual staff). They pay well, sometimes? CEO is brilliant (when not fighting with CTO)

Cons

TURN OVER IS SUPER HIGH! People who used to be lifers are suddenly gone after the B round closed. No loyalty for time worked or effort put in. Bonuses only go to a few select people. If you're not in the inner circle, good luck. "PeopleOps" is a joke, if you bring anything to them be prepared to either get fired or worse they just make your life miserable. PeopleOps is run by one/two people from Atlanta and have no idea what Valley culture is or what it takes to run a kick butt tech company. CEO and CTO fight constantly in front of staff. No real vision for product and what once was a company based on transparency is wrought with closed door meetings. Unlike most tech companies - they've built walls around management, you know where you stand because there's a door between you and all managers. You'll get promised a raise and then no one actually follows through, when you follow up you're looked at like your crazy. If you're important enough you can get a title change - which will help you at your next job. The healthcare offering for a healthcare tech company is a JOKE! Some of the lowest in the valley. Work/Life balance is a joke. Slack will make you hate life and your partner will learn to despise both Slack and Poitdok for the abuse of working in the evenings.

Pros

The tech is about as interesting as you can get, considering health IT is about 30 years behind the curve. They'll probably get acquired by some nameless conglomerate in a few years, giving you a chance to work somewhere better.

Cons

It was exciting originally, but PokitDok grew so rapidly while the C-level grew ever less interested in running a decent business. A flood of salespeople came on who would tell customers anything they wanted to hear make commission and left the mess for support and engineers to clean up. Multiple layers of management fighting for territory make sure you'll always be on somebody's bad side. Problems get ignored or publically shamed. When your "chief people officer" gets a writeup in Forbes, and says her best tip is to provide a safe space for EXECUTIVES to air their concerns, the train is well off the rails.

Pros

My peers have been very helpful in providing on-boarding assistance, while also giving me projects early on. I feel that I am positioned to make an immediate impact here -- unlike other places where you are "hidden in the trenches" for months/years. I am very glad to be working for Lisa, Ted and the PD family.

Cons

You are expected to pick things up quickly and figure things out on your own. However, someone is always willing to help you out if you ask.
