There is certainly a “family” dynamic, and if they don't like you, it’s very obvious. Older employees who have been with the company for a while will treat younger ones disrespectfully, or at least snobbishly. Many of them will tell you not to do certain things, but then will go and do them themselves. If you try and question then it’s pretty dismissive. Along with that, there really isn’t much of an opportunity for growth. There aren’t any team leads or anything of that nature, just a few smaller managers that oversee many departments instead. There usually isn’t a lot of work to do. You end up trying to pass the time looking busy, even after you ask for extra work. There are some departments that are just talking all day because of the lack of work. You can’t really go on your phone, but it’s not like that matters. The cellular connection is so bad that you can’t access anything in the break room or the parking lot. Someone passed while working, which was definitely a new one for me. Extremely low PTO- it takes 30 days worth of work to earn 1 sick day off. They don’t let you take unpaid time off. Almost no benefits, even for full time employees. I believe there are 4 holidays a year, maybe 5? No Memorial Day or Labor Day off, because it is their so-called “busiest times of the year.” Except, they fail to realize that the other 99% of the population has the day off, so they are celebrating with cookouts, not ordering pool supplies. They’ll take care of that afterwards. So after New Years, you have 6 months until 4th of July. Then you have to wait until Thanksgiving, then you get Christmas off!
