I didn’t work here for very long, and there were several reasons for that. A major part of the role involved sales practices I personally found uncomfortable. If a customer came in with a product that technically met their needs but didn’t deliver the expected results, the expectation was to upsell additional products and accessories to “save” the sale. This approach made me feel guilty and conflicted, as it often felt more manipulative than customer-focused. I also struggle with anxiety, and working in an environment where manipulation was a core part of the job significantly worsened that. As a result, my sales performance wasn’t strong, which eventually led to my termination. The reason given was that I didn’t have sufficient control over my anxiety and that the business needed consistent results. I understand that perspective from a business standpoint. However, what disappointed me was that this decision was made almost 2.5 months into my trial period, just before it ended. That made me feel somewhat used. In hindsight, I’m relieved that I didn’t stay longer. The role didn’t align with my values, and I’m glad I didn’t have to compromise myself to succeed in that environment.On that note, when looking back I’m happy that I got fired, so I didn’t become a person I didn’t wanna be. I got fired after 2 months and almost two weeks, so it wasn’t after the trail period of 3 months, and got fired because of me dealing with anxiety. Which didn’t become better when you have to manipulate people. I also feel like if anxiety was that big of a deal, and it had show within the first month, then why wait for 2,4 month.

You have to be incredible to achieve a decent bonus.
