Pros

Close to home - and don't be fooled by positive reviews either. People have been told to write them! Trust me!

Cons

A multi-million dollar financial firm?!? NO, this place gives away debit cards to people on welfare, government assistance and seniors who collect social security (who don't want to wait for a cheque from the post office) and charges them on every deposit & transaction! THAT'S ALL! NOTHING ELSE. They routinely and openly refer to "customers" aka cardholders as "low class", or "bottom feeders" making fun of callers on a daily basis. Only 2 ppl basically have a "say" here while everyone else follows orders & gossips in a tiny office that treats the backroom call center staff like 2nd class citizens.

Pros

Always busy with something, challenging work, good IT department and call center staff. They are putting together the right pieces to grow fast and have a good outlook. Management rewards with compensation for good, hard work. (Just don't ask for it). If you do good you'll get noticed.

Cons

High Turnover Ratio. As much as they try to want you to believe you're part of the management / admin team, you're really not. There's just two people who make all of the decisions and often are angry about reports and project completions. However, it's really management that fails to lead in any way shape or form and then they end up blaming people for not "taking initiative." Management is out of the office 2-3 days a week at most months, and there are no administrative controls. You have senior management, and entry level workers, no middle management, except on the IT side. Benefits stink. 5 days PTO/sick time/ vacation a year. They can get away with that because they are just out of NYC. While I was there, Call center manger was fired without 2 week notice, and everyone thought he was doing great. If you butt heads with the boss, you'll get fired, which is not what they promote. They say ask questions, challenge us if you think we're wrong, then they turn around and fire anyone who asks too many questions.

Pros

The only pro I can think of was the pay (but when compare it to the cons it was not worth it)

Cons

Firstly when looking at the reviews please take into consideration that some of them were written to try and boost their overall rating (I was present when they were writing them). I could write a whole book about the cons and negative experiences I had here... but I’ll just list the main ones: • they do not value/respect their workers, especially those that work in the call center (workers in sweatshop factories in third world countries are treated better). An alarming amount of people have gone in and out of the company, which is not normal considering the size and how long it has been in business. • the company is completely disorganized and unstructured. Tasks/responsibilities tend to be thrown on peoples’ laps without proper guidance, and then when things they reprimand the workers, instead of management assuming responsibility for their own incompetence • the CEO Andrew Siden is completely unstable (emotionally/mentally). He is not open to hearing others opinions/ideas, although he likes to say he is. It’s basically his way or the highway, and if you don’t agree with him, he basically throws a tantrum like a toddler and will have it out for you. • very unprofessional work environment. I have on multiple occasions heard people (including management) openly speak poorly and make extremely inappropriate remarks about workers (commenting on their physical appearance/race/personality/etc.) • unfortunately there is also favoritism in this office, the workers that kiss up to management are the ones that get noticed, and those that do not just get ignored. •there vacation/sick day system is a serious joke. You basically have 10 days a year, and this includes vacations, sick days, and personal days. •HR is a joke. Not the hr rep herself, but the hr process in general. You can speak to them and express you concerns/issues, but at the end of the day if the ceo doesn’t agree nothing is done to resolve the matter. They have on numerous occasions attempted to better the work environment, but sadly nothing ever came from it (always due to CEOs behavior) Basically if you are a person who has no passion for the job they do, only works for a paycheck, and is willing to work in a stressful/migraine-inducing work environment then this is the job for you.

PrePaid Ventures Response
7y
Prepaid Ventures, Ltd. is proud to provide financial services for those people that are not served by the traditional financial services sector and we take this responsibility very seriously. We make every attempt to provide a safe, productive and fulfilling work environment for our employees. To that end, management believes in keeping open lines of communication with all employees. Unfortunately, despite management’s efforts, there is inevitably an employee who feels disenfranchised for some reason. Although this person failed to ever engage management in productive and professional conversation through the various channels available to them during their employment, after their termination this person would rather submit multiple anonymous, libelous and inflammatory reviews with an intent to diminish the reputation of the Company and its managers, and weaken the morale of his former co-workers. We trust that anyone viewing posts rife with negativity - - as opposed to those with constructive criticism, which our management team always encourages- - will hold such posts in little regard as they bear no resemblance to the truth.
