      Company management has head buried in the sand

      - relaxed work environment - self pacing

      Cons

      - managers unwilling to fire poor performing or deal with non-cooperative employees - poor hiring and screening, biases in hiring - “People and Culture” person too obsessed with the “culture” and forgets that their job is actually just HR - apathetic team

      Dysfunction abounds due to lack of leadership & toxic Bro culture

      Pros

      They feed you every now and then as proof of their “great culture”…. They like branded cupcakes. Team engagement activities were fun but quite token. The events don’t actually fix the underlying dysfunction and poor communication. Great locations for offices. Hybrid working is nice, but exacerbates existing tensions because there is less opportunity to meet face to face to sort stuff out.

      Cons

      Some poorly trained staff (the company grew too fast), high turnover, some incompetent leadership e.g. a few senior sales members don’t understand the technical products they are selling, tension between various members of the Data and Engineering teams, conflict avoidant technical management, CEO who loves to promote start-up vibes but has somehow created a culture that combines problematic traits of VCs and US frat boy culture. Felt sorry for the data entry team, they seemed super over worked. The company tried to pivot with Covid as we were hit hard by the pause in travel, but there is some potentially dodgy decisions going on which sometimes felt kind of unethical, which was a factor in a few people leaving.
