Pros

Paid overtime for salaried engineering roles! 1x on weekdays and 1.5x on weekends. That’s incredibly rare and generous. Benefit package is solid, health insurance is fantastic. Colleagues and peers are some of the best people I’ve ever worked with. Lots of youth in the workforce.

Cons

Although coworkers were the biggest positive about Premier, the absolute biggest negative (with a rare exception) is management. It’s extremely cliquey. If you’re a yes-man, you’ll fit in well. If you have your own thoughts and opinions, don’t enjoy wasting time in meetings without a goal or agenda, or don’t drink the CEOs kool-aid, you’ll be in the doghouse in no time. When I started, the company was small and owned by two engineers who could sympathize with you. During my interview, they bragged about their tiny turnover numbers, and I could see why! But eventually, they hired a CEO with political roots to run the company. It started growing and expanding more quickly than people could keep up with it. Now turnover is INCREDIBLY high. They prefer to higher young college grads because the people with experience (and their own opinions, see above) leave like never before. Training is non-existent. Even tho training (as a distributor or integrator) was COMPLETELY FREE, no one went. Even after repeatedly asking management, you were told you would learn more on the job than at a class. Isn’t that nuts? They’re developing an in-house training program which, in my mind, is managements official way of saying that you’ll learn more from them than actual training. Unless you’re one of managements hand-picked favorites, who get training and recertification regularly. No room for growth or promotion. Your only way to advance is to replace your boss. No job levels. Lots of travel for most engineers.
