Pros

This company does excellent work. They do big shows and a lot of quality work all around the country. They are good at what they do.

Cons

Bad pay if you are not an expert in one specific area. Very low pay to start. Very slow opportunity to move up. Worst part is the way people are treated by certain managers and co-workers. Very disrespectful and unprofessional at times.

Excellent AV Company, Stark Dissociation Between Leadership and Workforce

Pros

High quality of gear (Formerly) great technicians Friendly staff High-value and high-quality production Competitively priced

Cons

-Upper management slightly disassociated with lower-tier employees -Leadership slightly tone-deaf to needs of employees (specifically relating to things like windows for prepping gear before shows, not enough labor on job sites, things that you would get experience with being hands-on but are typical for sales staff to ignore or miss) -Generally lower starting salary for AV technicians compared to others in the area -Unfortunately, like most companies in this field and especially in Ohio, PAV+CS suffered HARD as a result of Covid-19. Layoffs were unavoidable, and I don't envy the owner for what he had to do. The problem with the way they laid people off, however, is in the way they presented it to everybody. They put a list on a projector, and said "due to health concerns of the number of people in an area, please go upstairs if your name is on the list. We'll have a meeting for you shortly." Imagine our surprise when we, the remaining techs and warehouse staff, who were NOT on their list, were all terminated. We were told we were welcome to apply to jobs as they become available later on. It was incredibly impersonal, and being able to see a list of people who would keep their job while I was fired was hurtful, impersonal, and certainly did NOT make me feel like I was a "part of the family."
