Pros

Extremely hard to think of any at all to be honest.

Cons

- zero work life balance. Just because the CEO & COO live for the job, they expect everyone else to as well. - Only given 5 PTO & 5 sick days. - Extremely toxic work environment. Always on the edge of your seat never knowing when the CEO is gonna lose it. - Constantly doing a job for 10 people. Very unrealistic. - Terrible communication. - Zero flexibility. Cannot be a second late or leave a second early but expected to stay late to finish projects, for meetings, and be available weekends at all times. - No HR department. Well, it’s the CEO. Very contradictory. - Terrible benefits package, if any. I believe one employee actually has their health insurance because it’s just that bad. - The operations department is just lost. The systems in place such as pos and rewards is an absolute mess. Constantly getting complaints from customers about bad in-store service, sandwiches made wrong, etc. making it extremely hard to have loyal repeating customers. Need better training. How it’s gotten to that point is insane. - Digital vendor is terrible. Company has no backend access to their own website, analytics, app, etc. Again, how they’ve let it get to that point is insane. - Must be in office every day to sit in your office alone with the door closed on zoom calls all day. Because that makes sense. CEO just likes to micromanage at all times.

Pros

Specific people (Gina, Mike, Dante & Jamie) make the office sparkle and provide a friendly presence. They've gotten their employees a box to watch the flyers game in. They celebrate your birthday with your favorite cake. They'll let your dog/cat come in. You have a job.... with conditions*

Cons

*It sounds nice to have those things appreciated and that is mainly from Gina. She's an angel. Although, when you get inside the belly of the bear, it's not worth the damage this place will do to your mental health and your work experience. 1. If you're looking for somewhere to grow and move up, I don't suggest here. You will stay in the same spot with the same salary for years. 2. You must be punctual. You CANNOT be late. I mean even 30 seconds late. They will write you up and put you on probation. Also, you cannot leave a minute early. You'll be fired. They sent an email out that they understand accidents happen and traffic on the road. They said they know it is unpredictable but any excuse no matter traffic or accidents doesn't count for a reason to be late. They will write you up. They said to leave an hour to an hour and a half early then. 3. Your benefits include five PTO & five sick days. No more. If you run out of those, you get docked pay and it doesn't matter the reasons no matter what position you're in. Get ready for your health insurance to be a high bill with little benefits. 4. Be prepared to be threatened every week. Your job is on the line every single day and they will remind you. They may say "The success of PrimoHoagies is attributed to an excellent, long-tenured staff that regularly serves up a combination of quality, consistency, and originality." If you are talking about long tenured, the only people you are talking about is blood family members. The COO and CEO are the only one's who have the power to push people around and do whatever they please without consequence. The COO is a bit creepy. 5. The CEO: Nicholas Papanier Jr is a terrible raging employer. This company does NOT have Human Resources (HR). The HR is Nick who does not want to be bothered with anything but also will repeatedly punch a wall if you spell a single word wrong. He calls meetings just to belittle you. He emphasizes that he has the power and that's it. He will scream at you and swear at you. The environment is completely brutal and unprofessional. 6. Eventually you will get fired with no severance or real reason. You'll just be out like everyone else. No one stays at this company long unless you're family. 7. NJ Unemployment said I was fired for no wrongdoings of my own and it was on the company. I was let go for a spelling error on an Instagram post that was up for four minutes. Do you know why this happened? Because everyone in the marketing department (and other departments) are overworked. We all do one job that five people are supposed to be doing. They have money to hire more people. They don't want to find solutions to these small issues nor hold meetings about what can be changed. Then Nick is sending you threatening emails and calling you out in front of everyone for being a terrible worker. 8. Be prepared to be behind on all the work when you start. You'll probably catch up in a year but you'll have to get a therapist and physiatrist to make sure you get through it all okay. 9. Your work life balance does not exist. You only work. 10. Recap: You won't move up, grow, be treated as a human being, or have benefits that will help you. All said and done, it's up. If you want them to suck your soul out early, then welcome to Primohoagies.

DO NOT work here.

Pros

there are no pros to convince you to work here. No amount of surface level kindness and birthday cake will level out the manner of the con’s list.

Cons

1.) The corporate environment is always tense and uninviting. CEO has awful anger issues with no understanding how to run a business on a corporate level. One small mistake and you will hear it within seconds. The office environment is very judgmental and ignorant to those who they deem as “less than”. It’s an incredibly misogynistic environment with unacceptable belittling- talk on other’s (as well as employees at franchises) physique, relationship status, race, and lastly but not limiting, sexuality. 2.) Being late ( whether you’re 30 seconds late) for any reason - is not an excuse whether it’s traffic or a sickness they will reprimand you, write you up, and with no hesitation - fire you on the spot. If you leave one minute early, it follows the same unnecessary rules. They DON’T believe in a work life balance and demand a copious amount of your time and energy with no consideration of your personal life. 3.) The pay is awful and the benefits aren’t useful. You’re only allowed 5 days PTO and 5 sick days. If you go over your PTO allowance, your pay will be docked and you cannot make up for it. Your benefits barely cover any of the important basics. 4.) If you experience the loss of a family member and need bereavement time, they expect you to be grateful to be given only ONE DAY. I was handed a very tone deaf letter when coming back to office saying bereavement is not required, and we as employees should be grateful to be allowed an entire work day under the rules that the family member must only be a “grandparent, sibling, or parent”. 5.) You will not grow from your positions as they do not believe in promotions outside of family employees. Your pay will be starting at the minimum salary and negotiating your pay is considered entitled. Those who have been working with the company over 10+ years, have experienced bribery to ‘satiate’ their lack of pay and hopes for promotions for their time with the company. 6.) They have no culture and values as they continuously disrespect and discriminate their franchisees, store employees and corporate employees. 7.) There is no HR. The CEO is “HR” and will continuously shut you down or have no time for your feedback / comments. 8.) If you are working alongside their graphic vendors, good luck. Their main vendor “Doubletime” is an outdated, undereducated business run by only Danielle who will oversell assets, take advantage of you (and the CEO & COO) as a partner, discriminate & belittle you for “lack of comprehension” as they circle conversation with meaningless “statistics” to put you at a point of frustration, provoke arguments, and repeatedly disrespect your position at corporate unless you are the CEO. The CEO will not support you in that manner. If you choose to work here, understand that you are treated as a replaceable object and will also be reminded of that through the leadership’s actions and behaviors. You get lower than bare minimum at this company.
