Pros

Creative environment, lots of opportunity to learn from co-workers.

Cons

For anyone considering employment at this company, I would encourage you to reach out to literally anyone who has worked here, via LinkedIn, and ask for their honest opinion. It's important to note that negative reviews that I know to be accurate have recently been removed, while new "5 star" reviews have started sprouting up. This is an erasure of valid experiences that happen to look bad for them. Looks like the company is currently hiring... You do the math.   I could not have been more excited to join this company - it touted authenticity, transparency, and an obvious care for its employees. Nothing could be further from the truth. The employees were severely underpaid and overworked, and when actual issues were raised with management (via requested feedback from them), those employees were called "petty," "emotional," or otherwise ignored. Unfortunately, this company that loves to celebrate being woman-owned (technically speaking, 51% to 49%), consistently reinforced classic gendered stereotypes.  The owners are condescending, fake, and unprofessional. They surround themselves with a small circle of like-minded people who reinforce their delusions of grandeur. They are serial entrepreneurs who will do anything for a quick buck. "Success" is claimed, though their bread & butter business was failing for years before finally closing in March.

Pros

You will make like-long friendships with your coworkers, and learn a lot from your peers.

Cons

The owners of the company are not leaders. They are cowards who think only of themselves. They boast transparency, kindness, and authenticity, but follow none of these practices behind closed doors. They are sneaky, dishonest, rude, disrespectful, condescending and sometimes even cruel. The neighborhood is extremely unsafe - riddled with drugs and violent crime. There have literally been people shooting up, having sex/masturbating, and running from crime scenes in the parking lot. The office was moved to this location a few years ago with little thought to how it might affect the employees - many of whom are young women who don’t make enough money to afford a car. It should be noted that the owners of PF also own this new building... Upon first moving into the new office it remained an active construction zone that we were forced to work in for months - constant loud noise, strangers in-and-out, even toxic welding by our desks, and a gas leak. The first few days there was barely a functioning restroom, and a large light that hadn’t been installed properly came inches from an employees head as it crashed down onto her desk. Meanwhile - the owners office was fully finished and furnished upon move in - all decked out with designer furniture and a chandelier. HR is practically non-existent, and very much in ownership's pocket - there is no unbiased/trusted person to turn to with legitimate workplace concerns. A contractor for the company repeatedly acted in an inappropriate manner, and when these concerns were brought to the owners’ attention they did nothing. Apparently he was an “inexpensive” option, and “engaged, so it’s not like he’s even looking”, which outweighed his gross behavior. The worst part - he was recommended for the job by HR. The owners are married and often play out their dysfunctional relationship in company meetings, making their employees uncomfortable and setting a tone of unprofessionalism. The owners and HR make decisions based on who they think will get pregnant - i.e. if you are pregnant, or they think you might be - you will not be promoted even if you deserve it. Salaries at Printfresh are low - and do not expect any real growth. Each year you will be given more responsibility but it will not reflect in your paycheck. They will make you feel greedy and ungrateful if you ask for what you deserve. If you don’t have a manager who you can really trust to fight for you, you don’t stand a chance. Favoritism runs rampant - and you will constantly be compared to others in the company, past and present. The owners treat employees like their property, and sometimes pull you and others from work to try on clothing for their other companies - publicly commenting on your size, measurements, body, etc - “this wouldn't be for someone so busty”, “are you sure you’re a small?”. The owners often let their sick children, who are not well enough to go to school, come in and run around the office - showing a lack of respect for their employees health. There are cameras throughout the office that record your actions and voice without consent. Once the owner/CEO went through footage to see who put his espresso cup back in the cabinet when it was still dirty (maybe he should have just cleaned it himself). Turned out it was an intern, and it was an accident, but after that “kitchen shaming” was threatened for anyone who didn’t clean up properly - which meant they would find the footage and show it to everyone at the next company wide meeting, yikes. There is a noticeable lack of diversity within the company. The owner/creative director seems more concerned with the company being perceived as diverse than it actually being diverse. Almost 100% of the workforce is younger white women with no children. When critics rightfully brought this issue up as something that should be addressed - instead of opening up a dialogue and looking inward to see how they could do better - their solution was just to take down the very white group photo from the website. The owner/CEO always forgets/mixes-up people's names, and don’t count on him to remember any details of your life, even if you’ve worked there for years. He will also take any opportunity he can to talk over your, and often hijacks meetings with obnoxious and unrealistic ideas on subjects he knows little about. The owner/creative director planned mass layoffs to take place while she was out of the country. She didn’t even have the decency to face people and be honest. She never even addressed it with the remaining employees upon her return. She is often rude, rarely uttering phrases like - good morning, how are you, please, thank you, etc. She makes it clear you are there to please her (no matter how ridiculous her requests), often having people stop their actual work to help her with tasks she should be doing herself, as many times they are personal or for her other companies. She and her husband/the CEO are wildly out of touch with reality, and have little compassion for their employees lives outside the walls of work. The owners will always try to get away with whatever they can. They won’t do the right thing if they can get away with the wrong thing. Those who have spoken up often get let go for bogus reasons. If you don’t “yes” them, they won’t like you. And after they read this review, they’ll scoff and rationalize all these truths away - they never take responsibility for their actions, nothing is ever their fault.

Pros

The coworkers who help you get through the day.

Cons

Married couple on their 3rd failing business. Yes you ready correctly. I urge any prospective employee to head these warnings before joining Printfresh. First, you will be extremely overworked. Your life will have to become the job and that still will not be good enough for them. One person accounts for multiple areas of business to oversee and you will often be scolded for small mistakes because the managers/owners don’t actually know what anyone does day to day. This business runs like a true white liberal company. They have good “values” while overworking and underpaying their employees and keeping an all white staff. They’ll work you to the bone and degrade you then pride themselves on having free snacks in the office. The founder thinks she’s the next Gwenyth Paltrow (lol) while passively ordering people around through other employees. She won’t actually directly tell you what’s wrong you’ll find out weeks later that you made a comment she took the wrong way. She also continually halts creative processes at the 11th hour because “she just didn’t like it” without being involved for ANY of the process from the beginning because she’s busy leaving to get her hair done for 4 hours. Her CEO(lol) husband is busy listening to podcasts about Elon Musk to determine how he’s going to run the business that week. He constantly talks over people and will overwork you by slacking or calling you at all hours. His main objective is to “build a $100 million dollar company”, which to me is laughable. He does not care how much he overworks and underpays his employees. They do not value any employee. All of these reviews from their previous failing business are true. Proceed with CAUTION. Ps. the husband and wife hate each other and it’s palpable in every aspect of their business.
