Poor Executive Leadership and No Growth Potential

Pros

Work-life balance and ability to manage your own workload as needed. They provide training and are supportive of your growth. Annual company conference with other hotels. Friendly work environment.

Cons

Executive Leadership has no clear vision of the future for the company. They know they want to grow, they just don't know how. Little to no transparency from the top and everything is "need to know".

Talk a Good Game

Pros

On surface appear to care about employees. Decent benefits. Competitive wages. Allows work life balance

Cons

Cut at all costs. Sacrifices service and morale for the bottom line. Asks managers to deliver on aggressive budgets that are unrealistic and are not the best for guests or emoyees. There is no room to grow.

Pros

The particular resort I worked at had great people. I really enjoyed the staff I worked with.

Cons

Prism refused to hire more people for our department. Should be staff with at least 8 people but had only 3. We became pre-covid busy. They made sure the sales staff was completely full and even hire administrative assistants, but expected the accounting team to work on skeleton crew. Each of us doing 3 jobs, but paid barely over minimum wage. Also, no raises in 2 years. They also would keep knowledge of staff members testing positive for Covid quiet. Twice I had worked closely with someone that ended up with covid & I was never told! I could've brought it home to my family. 1 person was out for a month & I had just spent an entire day helping to train them... I was told "they needed to take time off" I found out through someone else 2 weeks after that the person has covid and was in the hospital (they weren't vaccinated either). The corporate policy is dangerous!!
