Pros

Prismatic operates at an impressive pace, driven by a strong vision and mission. The software architects were exceptional—they were always willing to share knowledge, provide context, and foster collaboration. I truly enjoyed working alongside them, and they made my day-to-day work

Cons

Unfortunately, the company’s culture had some deeply troubling aspects. While everyone seemed friendly and focused on the surface, there was a consistent pattern of negativity and backbiting behind the scenes. It was disheartening to hear coworkers AND leadership speak poorly / inappropriately about others who were highly regarded, undermining the sense of trust within the team. Leadership, particularly, was a source of frustration. Michael is undoubtedly a talented innovator and thinker, and I respect his ability to drive the company forward. However, his management style often felt cruel and demotivating. He plays clear favorites, and if you’re not in his good graces, it can feel like he’s actively working to diminish you. Some of his comments and behavior left me feeling insulted and undervalued, which made it hard to stay motivated. Lack of Employee Incentives: Another major issue was the lack of equity opportunities for employees who weren’t part of the founding team or executive leadership. For a startup, this was disappointing and made it harder to feel like a true stakeholder in the company’s success.

Pros

- Customer success team is a great group of folks to work with - Other teams are willing to help with anything and build you up - Offsites multiple times a year to meet your coworkers - Management and leadership are very transparent and treat culture and growth importantly - Completely remote + looking for ways to connect each other remotely! - Get to be a part of building and growing the company - Big focus on filling in gaps in knowledge and processes internally - Small, focused team that gets stuff done - Regular focus on goals every quarter - Leadership transparency - Focus on scalability of company and culture as we grow If you enjoy working in a fast paced environment in small teams and enjoy being able to help shape and grow the company and work with exciting tech, this is the place for you!

Cons

- Learning the new tech can be a little intimidating as the learning curve can be a bit big for some folks - If you're used to bigger companies, the pace can be very fast paced - No company onboarding currently - No "traditional" tech benefits (WFH stipends, gym stipends, company lunches, etc.) - Small team I don't find these cons to be burdensome, but be aware that as a smaller company, there are some tradeoffs to be aware of. As a growing company, however, there is a lot of room for growth that is recognized and actively being worked on, so 6 months to a year from now, things will likely look a lot different!
