Pros

-Freedom to do your job at your pace as long as it gets done in a realistic time period. -High organizational capacity for local benefactor (i.e. primary school students, teachers, subsistence farmers, etc.) livelihood improvement. -Most staff care about the work they are doing and that they are having a positive/beneficial impact on their beneficiaries.

Cons

Some management and certain few employees are not as invested in the goals of the organization as most. It is a well paying job for most host country nationals in the third world (Tanzania specifically) and this salary, rather than development goals, can be the primary motivation for some. Few members of the higher management also tend to be disconnected to what is happening on the ground and oversight is often minimal.
