      Poor communication and leadership taints what could be a great product

      Pros

      I worked with a really sharp team of ICs at Proton - some of the smartest I've worked with.

      Cons

      The CEO is too inexperienced for his role. He's very smart about the product and industry, but struggles immensely leading the company. He dominates every conversation, doesn't leave room for others to speak and provide input, and micromanages to the highest extent, I assume because he's not sure how else to function. He also struggles with making inappropriate comments about individual employees in group settings, which creates a "cover your a**" culture where everyone is afraid to be in his targets next.

      Salary Coworkers were good Remote work

      Cons

      Management is unexperienced with unrealistic expectations. The product doesn't work. We have to tell customers that we're adding features soon knowing that these are years down the line. The product can't handle what we claim it does now. Competitors in the space have better products and more funding.

      There are great people at this company and the product is awesome

      Cons

      Don't live by their values - say one thing, do another. Have to be careful what you say to certain people... They will jump at the first chance they get to report anything to HR. Lots of people leaving the company for other opportunities. No processes in place and onboarding is non-existent
