Great Mission, Toxic Employee Culture

Pros

The mission is amazing and the opportunity as an admin to go down to the floor and see the little ones you are taking care of is the best part of the job.

Cons

I can't speak to the childcare staff, but as a member of the admin team: You will be overworked for very little pay and benefits and will often be forced into performing duties that are not in your job description. You will work up to a 14-hour day during their holiday fundraising event, where you will not get to eat dinner until about 10pm (and you will only get 2 hours off of work the next day). Others in upper management will take credit for your work and throw you under the bus if something goes wrong. Personal experiences included gaslighting, micromanagement, and blatant favoritism from management.

Avoid This Hellhole

Pros

You learn from the clients

Cons

Ghetto staff and supervisors who have worse issues than clients. Racism runs rampant throughout the agency. Low pay and long hours with no overtime or chance of upward mobility. Management is shady and thinks the laws are suggestions and do not practice the Christian values they preach. Safety issues are not properly as addressed.

Pros

It was a great company to work for. They were compassionate and help a high level of respect for employees. Because the company practice the Catholic Faith Holidays were given off with pay. In addition Health Benifit packages were also good.

Cons

Pay raises were not always good. They compensated with various employee functions such as BBQ's, Christmas Parties etc. Also Providence House consists of many different properties in different boroughs therefore you had to travel to the different facilities to service the clients.
