Pros

- great product/vision. - Hands-on work opportunities and really interesting challenges - fun and talented team - flexible schedule and very little oversight (flat structure). Day to day you are your own boss, and the job is what you make of it - If you're willing to roll with the punches and aren't bothered by moving targets, career development, eventual company success, etc. it could be a chill and easy job

Cons

- The culture can be pretty toxic. It creeps up on you as you become more invested in your work. - No social events or any encouragement to get to know colleagues - Salaries are inconsistent. Many are below market value - Attitude from HR/management towards employees is also inconsistent. Many are treated as disposable. HR is an enemy rather than an ally. Communication from HR and management often feels superficial - Unclear company outlook - High turnover rate. Lots of really great talent lost over issues that were probably avoidable

Thanks for your review, and for the appreciation you expressed for our product & vision (which are really a product of many people's work here). I'd like to respond to some of your concerns. First, a couple of areas in which I disagree: - I believe salaries are relatively consistent, and I agree that consistency is important. The way we avoid inconsistency is by benchmarking salaries against market data every six months, and making adjustments, based on each employee's job duties and level of expertise. Two employees with the same title will have different salaries if their level is different, and someone with the same number of years of experience as someone else may have a higher salary because they work in a high-value specialty. - "Communication from HR & management seems superficial" - I'm always available on our company Discord and I respond to everyone. I speak from the heart, and hope that comes across. Concerns with some degree of validity to which I'd like to respond: - We don't as a company organize a lot of social events for people to get to know each other (though we just had an event at the end of this summer to celebrate the interns, and invited all local employees, with very good turnout). We could do better at this, especially since we have a distributed team with members in multiple places. - We do intend for salaries to be below the salary-maximizing market, since we also provide employees equity (which we intend to result in competitive total compensation), and because we seek employees who are here because they believe in our purpose. We don't want people sticking around for a high salary if they don't believe in what we do. - We have higher turnover than some older, more established companies. The reasons for this include the fact that we're growing fast, so our needs change over time, and our work environment changes, so we may be a fit for someone one year, and not a fit a couple of years later. - We don't treat employees as "disposable", but we do consider this a high-performance team, and people should be here to perform. - "Unclear company outlook" could be said about many companies right now. We are executing on our vision, and building products that people want (as shown in the data shared internally with every employee), but the environment is shaky now, and our future depends not only on our own execution, but on future conditions. It's completely understandable for people in this company (and most others in our field, and in many other fields) to feel that the future is unclear. Thanks again. Andy Rebele Founder & CEO

Pros

- Salary - Benefits - Great location - Free food - Most coworkers are incredible and bring lots to the table.

Cons

- High turnover. - The passive aggressive attitudes from upper management. If you disagree with them on anything you feel like an outsider. - Management not listening to valid points and ideas that can improve product. - When questions are asked about the company's status you're given very round about answers. Not really a clear answer. - The lack of an HR is clear and it was shocking to hear that a 10+ year company doesn't have one. Does explain the atmosphere. - The lack of product delivery due to errors yhat should've been solved at the very beginning of the products conception.

A Bit Suspicious

I will preface this by saying this is the first job I've gotten out of school, so I'm not familiar with much. But after I did the interview, I was put in contact with the accounting department to set up a home office. At first I was sent an email check to deposit, then asked to install Zelle to transfer money to the vendors to get the supplies that I need to get set up. I was having several issues, but it boiled down to me going to the bank to find out what was going on. The check they sent was apparently from an account blocked by the bank. I end up being asked to set up another bank account with Wells Fargo which I cannot complete open yet, as I do not have the card yet to set up the account. The accounting department has been very pushy with asking if the card is here, even though I've told them it will most likely be a few days before the card is in. As of writing this, I have already send $500 to the vendors, and am being asked to send $500 more to with the promise of being payed back with interest. However I was skeptical to make the 2nd payment with bitcoin, which I denied since I'm not familiar with crypto whatsoever. I still have yet to get this sorted out and get set up after nearly 2 weeks, and have been dreading that this may be a scam. I can't find anything anywhere else to confirm this, but this entire interaction has been incredibly stressful, seems extremely suspicious, and has left me very paranoid.

This is not us. We have never and ever will ask any candidate to send us money for any job. I am guessing you are a victim of fraudulent activities/scam using our company name.
