Pros

- Birthday off and that's it

Cons

*Heavy micro-management via ridiculous amount of useless softwares. Purple is an "old school" call center *Some team leaders and managers lack empathy and apathy towards employees. They don’t show they care at all and treat employees like they’re interchangeable *Purple's unempathetic leaders lack emotional intelligence and don't motivate employees to succeed *Conservative management. Management only focuses on number of calls/demos/meetings instead of strategizing employees' pipeline/touches with clients to maximize results *Purple have no interest in employees' development and creativity *Career postings are misleading stating management team feeds employees with plenty of warm leads to convert. You won’t have any warm leads

Pros

Great induction process and a terrific direct line manager, one who listens and gives constructive feedback, which includes the positive for a pleasant change. I was given an amazing opportunity to fly over to Manchester to train with the team and was made to feel warmly welcome. I'm confident that Purple can finally provide me with future career advancement after I spent many years in the contracting space.

Cons

The vast bulk of the company is, of course, based in the UK so there's less time in day to bounce around ideas and seek support during initial training of new Australian based staff. This will become less of a concern as Melbourne builds up a larger, autonomous unit.

Pros

As others have said you do get your birthday off. The employees that do the hard work are great.

Cons

If you go back and look, every time a honest review is posted about how bad the work environment is and how the company treats people, there is magically 1 or 2 reviews a few days later that are all positive and has zero cons or anything negative to say. I have worked at a few companies now and I have never heard anyone ever say they love everything about their job and there is not one bad thing to say. I have also never heard of an employee putting exclamation points after I love my job in the cons section of a glassdoor review unless it is someone from the HR department trying to pass a fake review so they can keep their most recent posts up and trick people into working at Purple. If you want to know if you should take a job at Purple, go back and filter by date and look at the positive reviews and now fake they are as the HR department writes them after a bad 1 star review is posted. Expenses are still done an excel spread sheets and they try to nickel and dime you everywhere. Do not expect to eat well when you are traveling. Company party was cancelled because of how much it costs to have in the UK and fly people from all over the world to Manchester and it would not look good to the investors if tens of thousands were spent on a company party and get together. I have never worked at a place where the HR department and CFO have had to ask former employee(s) to remove their glassdoor review because it was hurtful and would make it hard to hire new people. The issue is everything in the post that Purple got taken down was 100 true and Purple did everything they could to take it down as who would want to work at a call center that is micro managed with bad healthcare, way too many different software tools to track what everyone is doing at all times, incompetent managers and what it says in the job posts are knowingly false by the HR team but they are trying to trick people into working here as if they put what the job duties actually were, they would not be able to hire anyone with experience.
