Pros

A good place to start for graduates. You can get experience in other departments if you're friendly with the right people. Based in a nice part of London. Friendly staff for the most part.

Cons

My personal experience at QVC started off great and I got a lot of fantastic experience but it turned sour very quickly. I experienced bullying from senior members of my team which management were made completely aware of. The bullying persisted for months and management let it continue because it was easier for them to dismiss it as a bit of fun, rather than deal with the bad apples themselves. Career opportunities are very poor and very unhealthy shift patterns. Shifts last 12 hours and you're expected to work extremely unsocial hours which will have an impact on your personal life. Very difficult to book consecutive days off due to the nature of the job being shift based.

Pros

Good staff shop sales 20% Discount Most customers are lovely.

Cons

I worked for QVC for around three months before being completely shut off from the company and 'escorted off site'. At my time there I loved it despit the strict 'average call handling time' and constant call reviews. I managed to adhere to both of these and really excelled and managed to sell most upsells that you are required to offer. However at the end of my probationary period I had two days off within three months so I was fired. Despite those who had worse rated calls and failed to adhere to AHT and PETO (allocated toilet time- which only equates to about a minute an hour), I was completely shunned from the business and was told I needed me be escorted off sit immediately as if I was some kind of criminal. Despite this, I entered the staff shop on the way out as I had only been fired two minutes before. I was obviously upset and had already seen a couple of team leader who had acknowledged me and apologised for the way I was treated. However, whilst purchasing the items my personal team leader came into my face and shouted in front of everyone in shop that I shouldn't be in there whilst spraying spit in my face. She took me by the arm and escorted me out the shop. I was disgusted. I then called up a few days later to ask when I would be receiving vouchers that I had won for selling the most upsells and coming third in my team. I was told that I was not entitled to them (despite me earning them a month earlier) and that I should no longer call. I am disgusted with the treatment of staff and the insensitivity of management. I would honestly NOT recommend to anyone.

Pros

I found no pros to working for Qvc, although the training was enjoyable the same about of time was spent training for two very different jobs one much easier than the other.

Cons

Although during the training there was no focus on targets this followed quickly and aggressively. Feedback was often given just to give blame, not to help employees grow and learn. Also after having three days out of work due to illness I was forced to decide between continuing in a job I Knew I wasn’t wanted and perceived to be crazy and wouldn’t have the support necessary to support me with my illness or quit. My life turned upside in a week thanks to Qvc and I almost lost my home. Do not work there if you have any mental health needs, they will not support you.
