Not run like a business

Pros

Most of the people are great. It is a good resume builder since you have to do so many different jobs.

Cons

Lying! A prime example is the 5 star review. QAD doesn't have an HR department, so how was the review written by someone in HR?! There is a MUCH bigger focus on appearances, then substance. Micro management is another big issue. Even the simplest decisions take weeks to be made! They say it's "God first, family second, and work 3rd", but what they mean is job first, QAD first, nothing else matters.

RUN AWAY FROM QAD

Pros

The rank-and-file employees are great people. There's a decent Christmas party. Many employees care a great deal about the archery industry.

Cons

You work at QAD. This place pays so poorly, is wholly untrusting of its employees to the point of paranoia, cares nothing about quality or content and only about appearances, and DOES NOT value its employees and will use and abuse them whenever possible. QAD does not honor PTO, refusing to pay for vacation time. I would rate lower but am required to put at least one star.

Pros

There is a good Christmas party, low level employees are awesome people! The archery industry is filled with a lot of great people. There is an indoor archery range that is available for employees to use during breaks.

Cons

QAD's upper level management starting with the owner Dan Summers does not trust or value his employees. This is shown in a variety of ways. Sales representatives are not given their current sales numbers and are absolutely forbidden to share their past numbers with other sales staff (not that it really matters because there is no commission on sales). Salaried employees are required to punch in and are punished if even a minute late. Everything on QAD's property is under survalence and is closely monitored, The place has better security then most government buildings. Unfortunately the company's management is just as bad as the company's compensation structure and culture. The "bullseye" bonus system is entirely based upon how management feels about a particular employee rather then performance. QAD requires a college degree for most office positions, then pays barely over minimum wage even though most of these positions are salary. This is especially bad during show (peak) season, when you are required to work large amounts of overtime without compensation. As other reviewers have pointed out decisions take forever to be made even though the company and chain of command is very small. This is directly due to the overbareing management style of the owner and the marketing manager (CEO). The company claims to have strict Christian values, but only sticks to them when it is convienent for the company.
