Flexible hours and nice perks, but communication issues exist
Pros
Allowance was nice to have Located at one precint for Test department. For software department is located at Summerskye. Nice food around one precint. OT pay is RM13/hour during weekday and RM20/hour during weekend, plus OT Meal RM10/day. automated with face scan. No need to write to management to request OT. Receive goodies and free food every 2 months. Receive goodies during local festivals (Raya, CNY, deepavali). Observe many of national and local public holidays. 4 meeting rooms, well maintained office. Flexible working time (8:30-9:30 entry, 5-6 exit) Observe paternity, maternity, marriage, bereavement leaves. You will receive allowance for marriage, birthday, and newborn (for female employee). Receive normal AL (14,16,20) depending on your years of service. Applying AL is dependant on your management. Some have difficulties approving due to work. All Malaysian races are welcomed. No restrictions on your race, or ethnicity. Main communication is english.
Cons
Communication with china colleagues are challenging. Some colleagues have good english, while majority from China have difficulties communicating in English. Knowing mandarin is not a requirement, but will be an advantage if your china boss has weak English. Some management has no clue on Malaysia working culture, and they expect you to submit MC 3 days in advance before you get sick (!!???). This will depend on which team you are in. China colleague works 9-9-6 here. But locals do not need to follow. No medical card. All medical issues are on a pay and claim basis with a cap of RM800/year.
