Garbage Company

Pros

Finding humor in the nightmare you've gotten yourself into.

Cons

Condescending attitudes from everyone, horrible management, cliques and bullying. The pay is horrible and you will receive no respect. There is literally no incentive to work here. The magazines are trash and frankly the entire experience would be an embarrassment to your resume. Often times I get employers who look at my resume and they say "what's 'Questex'?" Save yourself the embarrassment and work elsewhere. They have NO money and are losing profits every month. It's a matter of time before this company goes under.

Ineffective and unscrupulous management, incompetent leadership

Pros

There are talented, dedicated people who deserve nothing but the best. Unfortunately, these people are quickly disregarded by the management team in favor of ineffective yes men and women who flatter the egos of incompetent and unscrupulous leadership.

Cons

In time of trouble, superb companies are judged less by how they operate when things go right than by how they handle situations when things go wrong. The company's completely horrific management of the COVID-19 crisis and, frankly, the months leading up to it are a prime example of why they are not a company that leads with integrity or competence. Talent, relationships, and skill are not important for success at Questex. It is not a place where innovation and dedication are rewarded or appreciated. The cheapest solution will always win out, much to the detriment of incredible people, clients, and brands.

Pros

At the mid to entry level, the people you will work with are smart, driven and genuinely good people to work with. They have passion for their work and it shows in the success of the brands.

Cons

New upper management does not take the time to know the team members who have been there for years and years. They have been hiring a lot of people they used to work with - giving them higher titles and salaries than they should. Upper management preaches how the greatest asset is the people, but really they only care about their own people. Raises and promotions are only given if you drink the kool-aid. Rash decisions are made (like rebranding) without consulting the people who know the industry inside-out...resulting in wasting time and effort of the employees that actually do the day-to-day work.
