Pros

I am going to try and make this short, as the reviews below basically say the same thing. - The idea/goal of the platform is rather interesting and has a good purpose-- to let people "vote on the news" in hopes of eradicating fake news - Many people who work here are highly intelligent and driven, so from a networking standpoint, working at Quibbl is great to meet qualified people from across the country (as 90% of people working here are remote, part-time) - Ability to pick up actual work and deliver on it - Nothing else, because to be honest, the platform is going nowhere-- no funding, no solid relations with investors, high employee turnover, lack of skilled workforce

Cons

- Future of the platform: It is every intern's dream to be part of a startup that becomes crazy profitable. When interviewing for the firm, the founder will lure potential candidates in by saying "if you do great work, I'll give you equity. " But to be honest, that will never happen because the founder will always find something wrong with the work you produce, and will blame you for problems you didn't even do or know existed. It's frustrating because the founder inflicts this type of "psychological terror" (for lack of better words) upon interns without actually taking a step back and reflecting on his OWN actions and his OWN attitude towards others. People thus will get tired of this which ultimately leads them to quitting or only staying a short time. How do you expect any work to be done with this turnover? The startup cannot grow with the constant chaos the founder creates. - Work culture: Quibbl's is the worst I've ever seen. While criticism is necessary for growth, the extent to which the founder takes it, is not justified. He will literally spend an entire meeting criticizing one intern (i.e. 1-2+hours), while the others on the team have to listen quietly and somehow agree to what is going on (many interns don't have the guts to actually speak up, because they are afraid they would receive the same treatment). This is not acceptable---not here, not anywhere else in the real "work" world. Instead of actually getting work done, the founder relies on blaming to make his "interns" work for him-- out of fear. Basically, the founder is just USING interns for work, without any consideration for who they are as an individual. - Isolation: Again, no one cares about who you are, only what you produce is valued. The majority of people working here have never seen each other-- not even via video call. You only talk to a computer screen to people miles away--across the US and across the world. Work meetings here are thus only done via audio. Lastly, it's almost like the founder wants to isolate the teams from the rest of the company so that he can micromanage/control them. - Honesty: In the job posting, fancy buzzwords will be everywhere, like "Ycombinator, Bridgewater, etc.." While some of this may be true, the actual truth is far from that. The founder graduated from Harvard, but dropped out of Kellogg. While he wasn't a hedgefund manager nor did he work at the high level the job posting describes, he did work at Bridgewater. Again, the management team has carefully formulated job postings to attract naive yet driven college students, who flock to these job postings because of these buzzwords, as they lack the proper experience and knowledge to actually realize the fakeness of Quibbl. Bottom line, the startup and it's management team is inflated and isn't legitimate. There are so many things that could be documented, but this suffices. The reviews below also state similar things.

Pros

There are no pros to consider.

Cons

Let’s get one thing straight…Quibbl has received at least 6 thorough, true, and detailed negative reviews in the past spanning from 2018 to present that have been removed for reasons not completely known, but you should take this fact as relevant and into account. Moreover, some of the positive reviews – as already detailed by a previous review – were in fact written by the CEO. For example, everyone at Quibbl knows that there is not an “office”; as a result, no previous employee would write that. Let’s get another thing straight…the CEO does not have an MBA. Do not let anyone, Linkedin, or Handshake tell you that he graduated with an MBA from Northwestern University. Do not take these implications lightly either. Let’s get one last thing straight…Quibbl is not a "Y Combinator finalist" – there is no such indication anywhere on the web that such grouping exists. Google it for yourself. Nor is it a news fighting website, nor will it ever be. Just go to the site and see for yourself. A last piece of advice…do not let anyone tell you this site will be successful, that you will receive equity, or that this website will “launch” soon. Bottom line…do not work here. If you have no other option...think twice and check out any of the Builtin sites (ex. BuiltinLA), and gain real access into the tech start-up arena.
