Pros

Cool concept, there are dogs in the office, some of the people who work there are great, we were all quite united in our feelings towards the company and the office so in some sense felt like a community of unhappy people!

Cons

There are so many it's hard to know where to begin, 90% of the senior leadership team have no business running the business. It's proof that just because you have a good business idea, it doesn't mean you can run a business. Decisions were never stuck to and plans changed everyday, frustrating a lot of people. There was little structure in any of the teams and a lot of senior leaders and interns/more junior members of staff. Leaders would spend all their time working on the strategy and nothing would be done as they all believed they were better than actually actioning anything. Everyone is stretched to their maximum capacity at all times, and the location is not ideal! The nearest shop is 15 mins away and you feel very unsafe going on your own.

Pros

There are a handful of really great people, but a lot of people have left already.

Cons

The five men that started this company are extremely entitled, self-involved, and do not motivate their staff in the slightest. There is an extreme difference in the way that men and women are treated. If you are a woman, I would advise you to steer clear. There is a huge discrepancy in the way that women are paid and treated. The direction of the company changes very frequently and the KPIs that are set are unrealistic. The target is constantly moving and management does not take the time to listen to employees. Programmers are majorly overworked and undervalued. Sales are treated very poorly as well. Unfortunately Quiqup is late to market, and underfunded compared to similar start-ups, so there is a constant scrambling and changing of direction. Perhaps not a major issue, but the surrounding area of the offices are also quite grim.

Pros

Non-management are a great bunch of people, and everyone works hard wanting it to do well.

Cons

I'm truly surprised that Quiqup is still going. I honestly don't know where to begin about the negatives. Quiqup has the most hideous and toxic environment that I've ever worked in. Here are the reasons why: - Management are clueless bullies. The 5 founders are essentially wealthy twenty-something's that have been lucky enough to start a start-up but have virtually no experience, intelligence or care for their staff. Some are more incompetent than others, but they are the main issue about why Quiqup will never be a nice place to work. The CEO has his flavours of the month, of whom he likes, but drops them like a hot potato and couldn't care less about the others. I honestly am surprised the place is still afloat with these guys at the helm. They're lucky to have Quiqup because they wouldn't progress anywhere else. - The product is flawed. A lot of the stress comes from having an essentially obsolete product. They are simply too late to the game and not well-funded enough. Their time is numbered. It's impossible for many people working for the company because they can't hit their KPIs. - Nepotism - many hires are unsuccessful as they hire within their friends and family. This results in a very non-diverse working culture. Also many are as incompetent as the people who hired them. When there's an issue with a hire, management are too nervous to do anything about it as it's one of their cousins. - The location of the office - not a huge deal, but in a dreadful location. - Lack of decision making. Probably due to lack of experience, they will often completely change their mind on anything from a small matter to the whole company strategy
