Have second thoughts about it

Pros

They have helped a lot of low income folks get off the street and have a roof over their head.

Cons

They used to be a well run company until their Executive Director left after more than 3 decades. Her replacement has nearly killed the business in a short 4 years with both indecision and bad decisions. Leadership at the senior management level and above is a joke. Expect many promises and carrots dangled in your face and no follow through. Expect indecision to the point that months and even years go by without any decision or even a follow up question. Nepotism is rampant. If they don't like you, expect for a which hunt to begin in order to force you to leave or they'll find some way to fire you. Don't expect to be moved up. That almost never happens. Get as much pay from them as you can when you get the job, they don't pay well and the raises don't even keep up with COLA.

Pros

Great benefits, mission oriented organization

Cons

lack of accountability especially at Manager and senior Manager level, CEO can't make a decision in a timely manner, being run by people whose ego's are so large, there's no room for anything else. Management does a poor job on-boarding and training employees and the lack of responsiveness by management is proof of a larger issue.

Pros

Some really amazing, dedicated front line staff; opportunities to help disadvantaged Portlanders thrive and be successful.

Cons

Toxic management structure. Infected with hatred and vitriol at the top levels. Staff don’t feel comfortable advocating for personal or resident safety and well-being, for fear of reprisal. Least effective HR for dealing with workplace bullying, harrassment.
