Pros

Working in this field gives you a valuable skillset. It pays well. If you can get a clearance it'll open up dozens more opportunities for you.

Cons

The work is boring at best and demoralizing at worst. Coworkers are nice but there's rarely time to bond or interact with them. Management will act friendly to you one day, only to turn around the next and act cold, abrasive, and passive-aggressive with no explanation. Management is also chronically disorganized and forgetful. They will go back on their word for reasons unknown, which I can only assume have some benefit to them, or else they're being pushed by upper management to change their minds (but this is never communicated).
