Pros

You got yearly bonus. No high-tech required. If you have wide network/connections with VIP or VVIP, you’ll paid well and thrive

Cons

Your opinion and ideas won’t matter, so just keep it to yourself or bring them somewhere else. The ‘Yes’ men/women will survive well, or excellently. No questions, no discussion. Don’t try to question them or you’ll be seen as stupid or even as someone who tried to challenge them.

Pros

Location - CBD Some colleagues are quite nice and professional

Cons

No chance of career progression unless you are willing to be flexible with your integrity and professionalism. Need to be a "yes" man in order to move up Compensation and Benefits are pathetic, annual leave for junior staff starts at 7 days and staff level starts at 14 days (but it will stay at 14 days even if you work 30 years). Company culture is the worst. I hear from ex-colleagues that people are being forced to write good reviews to boost their Glassdoor scores. A lot of horror stories during the difficult period of the pandemic. Many of these horror stories were shared by others on Glassdoor already. But a leopard never changes it spots. Don't trust the positive reviews Shouting and yelling is common place; there is no respect for others, especially those at the junior levels or disadvantaged. Bullying is normal and even encouraged so long as they get what they want. No wonder their staff attrition is so high; some even resign without a job There are so many unwritten rules about everything and so much secrecy. Luckily, my boss is nice and professional but most are not. Employees are expected to work crazy long hours and do more than one person's job

Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

The company does not provide laptops to employees and offers a dismal 14-day leave to everyone. They (think they) put high regard to data security by asking everyone to work on (not very new) desktops with close to non-existent internet access. They are under the impression that everyone is out to get their precious trade secrets and hence control what employees can/ cannot do. IT infra structure is pathetic to say the least: meetings rooms are equipped with old projectors and shared desktops to access / project files etc (highly unhygienic during this period of pandemic), IT support is highly bureaucratic with layers upon layers of approvals (mostly manual with papers) for everything (i.e. increasing your mailbox size, accessing external websites). These show the level of trust the company puts in their employees and how amazingly warped their thinking is. During the pandemic, employees are to settle their WFH arrangement: use own desktop/ laptop or buy at own expense. No company support whatsoever. One would completely understand if this were an emerging company strained on resources. But it is not. You make your own judgment here. 14-day leave is standard for every level and doesn't seem to be increased anytime soon (this despite HR hinting during my interview that they were looking at adjusting it to reflect better employee benefits). So unless you manage to negotiate your remuneration package sufficiently well to cover these botches, you should think twice (or perhaps thrice) before thinking of joining this company.
