Beautiful environment, friendly staff, great food and spa. Have started to promote from within more so than in the past but will still hire sales people from other hotels than promote from within
Cons
Gradually took away most perks so that owners could make more money and employees took pay cuts, got laid off, took away free soda and stopped providing free hot meals
Some hotel companies offer better travel benefits (best is Starwood and 4 Seasons). DHR doesn't come close on travel perks.
Time off when needed. If they do like you, you can move up.
If you are a manager or higher you can make bank. But if you're a line employee-supervisor, not good salaries.
Cons
Executives and managers are so far removed. Not involved in day to day and get bonuses based on line level work. Six figure employees don't work as hard and get tons of perks. No holiday parties or rewards.
Management is very very cheap. Don't expect to be paid market and don't expect a raise.
Work life balance is poor.
A lot of people who have been there a while and are unwilling to change the way they do things
