Pros

Large organisation with multiple service lines. Some service lines look after their staff. Can do interesting work.

Cons

Low market visibility, so not great on the CV. And when RPS' name is known it tends not to be well regarded. Incredibly poor senior management full of infighting and politics. Focus is very much on the bottom line so will cull staff without looking to the future. Poor investment in growth of businesses or staff training. Focus is on acquiring businesses not growing existing businesses. If you are approached to sell your business do so with eyes wide open - and the knowledge that within two years you will see your staff made redundant. Terrible female employer. Don't expect to come back from maternity leave. Little to no women in senior management of business streams. Poor career progression. Poor communication between services lines.

Pros

Good, long term clients. Interesting work.

Cons

More interested in recruiting new people rather than retaining existing - 15 per cent turnover of staff. Salaries don't match the market

Extremely poor management

Pros

The reputation associated with working at a large multi-national company - looks good on the CV.

Cons

Top-down management, very hierarchical and don't listen to or consult with staff. No real opportunities for staff mentoring or professional development. They don't think twice about shedding staff to maintain company profits (like many large companies). And when they do, they don't consult with or have any real regard for affected staff. Avoid RPS Brisbane! Full of sociopaths and narcissists!
