A trail of angry people

Pros

The product has promise. Seems competitive on paper.

Cons

Clearly, there are some angry former employees, and as one, I understand. I'm not really angry as I am disappointed. I'll give them a two instead of a one because I'm an optimist. Here is a promising solution that isn't going places because of one individual. A case of person knowing how to work with things but not people. Someone like this shouldn't be involved in sales, but it's the owner and this person insist on micromanaging everything and everyone. Oh, and he often acts like a real arrogant jerk in the process. He simply can't loosen the reins, but here may be hope.

A cautionary tale - don't go to work for RTP

Pros

An offer will at least be on par with the market. The product is serviceable.

Cons

As the title says, please see this as a cautionary tale. This is why we have reviews folks. The simple truth is you will not be successful in sales working for RTP, and in the end, any tenure with them will be damaging to your career. The issue is the person in charge, who happens to be the owner and isn't going anywhere. There is an extreme lack of trust and respect you will be forced to tolerate. Some people can deal with this better than others, but this treatment extends to customers preventing you from selling. Everything is controlled by this person, including you if you go to work here. You will not be allowed to do any business unless he personally approves of the method and scenario. Unfortunately, this changes from day to day, hour to hour. He doesn't know what he's doing anyway. The product is serviceable, but confusing. Do a some research and and you'll see what I mean. Understandably, the owner thinks it is the greatest in the world and all of his competitors (and most of his potential customers) are idiots if they don't get it. You may be an experience controls salesperson, but you'll be talked down to and treated like a know nothing - it is infuriating. Again, please consider this a cautionary tale. The turnover in sales is terrible for the above mentioned reasons, and about half a dozen recent, former employees will tell you the same story. You can certainly do better almost anywhere. Keep looking.

Pros

Very good product. Descent pay & benefits.

Cons

This place is very restrictive. There is no internet, the computers are outdated, not allowed to eat at your cube or pin anything on the walls. You will not be allowed to talk or laugh. There is very high turnover. Not uncommon to find 3-4 different people rotate in the same position in less than a year. Plus you get the pleasure of getting terrorized by the owner who walks around all day barking orders at people. There is very little training, zero room for error. Everybody there is conditioned and terrified, and work 12 hr workdays, even on some Saturdays. If you like to work in these conditions, then this is the place for you. Stay away, you’ve been warned.
