Pros

Good benefits, flexible work hours with the ability to work from home (if you are in certain positions), and some really great people willing to teach you what they know.

Cons

Management slow to make improvements and not really open to change. Little is done about toxic Consultants/Managers who treat employees in lower positions like their personal punching bags. Promotion or advancement is hard to come by and employees holding "lesser" positions are often told they're easily replaceable when they ask for promotion or a raise (unless they have the right people on their side). Pay below industry standard for most positions.

Pay is well below industry average

Pros

Good coworkers. Young work force. You get to learn the basics of the investment consulting industry, but nothing in-depth. That's about it.

Cons

1. Analyst pay is well below industry average. Higher up consultant pay is above industry average. 2. Work load is not evenly distributed. Pay is not merit based. 3. You do not get incentive for taking on extra projects. 4. Poor management. 5. CEO and a lot of higher up consultants don't even work in the office. 6. Weird tension and vibe between "higher ups". 7. A few consultants don't respect analysts enough. Bad internal communication. 8. A few higher ups don't appreciate people's work. 9. Some meetings and action items are unnecessary. 10. Extremely high turnover. Constant staffing crisis. 11. Hard to get promoted. 12. Year end bonus is a joke. 13. Long hours during reporting season with no extra compensation.

Low Morale

Pros

Flexibility, PTO and work/life balance are good as long as you're organized. Some great people work there, but there are bad eggs too. Opportunities are available to learn quite a bit about the industry if you seek them out. The knowledge I gained helped me get the job I have now.

Cons

Management lacks transparency and follow through. Not a meritocracy -- raises, bonuses and promotions are based more on who you're friends with than the quality of work you put out. Opportunities for growth are not equally available. Good employees will be used until they burn out, while those that work the system comfortably float by and promote mediocrity. Morale is extremely low due to high turnover at all levels and poor management decisions. Comp is below industry, and net pay has been decreasing due to higher premium costs being passed along to employees.
