Cons

The definition of a toxic workplace is: ‘Toxic workplaces are created by the actions of toxic employers or employees; that is, individuals who are motivated by personal gain, whether driven by power, money, fame, or special status, utilize unethical means or behaviors to psychologically manipulate, belittle, or frustrate those around them, or divert attention away from their personal inadequate performance or misdeeds.’ I could not describe Radius in a more perfect way. There is 0 trust in the team or any employee which manifests itself in being micromanaged to within an inch of your life, there is 0 flexibility as no one is trusted , We have to get approval for literally everything (e.g every flexible working request has to get signed off by C-suite and it’s 99% of the time a no), no empowerment to make any decision, a ridiculous workload that is only manageable if you work every hour under the sun (which is expected from you). The HR strategy (if you can call it that) is to ‘save money’ which is at the expense of the employee. They will make barely legal but immoral decisions just to save a bit of money that will severely impact employees. There is 0 duty of care which results in so many mental and physical consequences. The team just work operationally, there is no big picture thinking. This was shown in the engagement survey, but leadership have an inability to look inwards at their own behavior and decisions. The People team’s engagement survey was the lowest in the business due to the reasons outlined above and down to the fact we don't follow our own process' even though we are meant to lead by example. Turnover is ridiculously high, 4 directors left within 12 months. The two that have stayed just feed into the culture, the others got out quick. High level of disrespect from directors/CPO to the rest of the team. All in all, believe the reviews and don’t work here

Pros

Because we are 'all in it together' you do get very close with your team as you support each other trying to navigate your way through the toxicity of Radius. The cafe was good before they put the prices up. Now no one goes because the don't want to pay the prices! The pizzas are not good

Cons

The culture is the main issue. Radius has a reputation in the area for being an awful place to work and they are right. Everyone lives in constant fear. Fear of losing their jobs. Fear of getting onto the radar of senior management who will then bully you and force you to move into a position you don't want. Fear of a certain 'chairman' losing it at you. Everyone is on a weeks notice regardless of your role (we have to give 1 or 3 months) and so people just disappear with no warning and everyone else is expected to ask no questions and pick up the workload. Its not right on the people leaving and its not right for the rest of us to be expected to work 60+ hour weeks to get everything done. There is 0 flexibility. Someone in my team was denied working from home for 1 day so they could go and see their kids nativity on lunch. Radius sees people as a number, they don't care that they ruin lives. If you look at every other company on Glassdoor, they respond to negative reviews because they care when people have a bad opinion of the place. Notice Radius hasn't responded to a single bad review The People team is like a revolving door of people which also speaks volumes
