The manager came back from FMLA leave of absence. She was the exact opposite of the woman I had worked with previously. I lasted another two weeks. I went from happy, friendly, outgoing to totally withdrawn. I was constantly criticized and reprimanded for things as petty as getting a drink of water.
The most serious problem, however, was most of the staff were developmentally disabled and I was given no instruction, training, orientation, nothing with regard to how to work with these people. I guess management figured that since I wasn't direct care staff, I didn't need to know.
